Air quality: "hazardous," September 2020 in Oregon. In April 2021, we moved there; I obsessively checked the Environmental Protection Agency's "Air Now" site. The summer of 2021 brought wildfires, drought, and a couple of weeks when temperatures stayed in the 115-degrees Fahrenheit range. The smoke plumes made gestures all summer, finally settling down in late October. |
